Ressurected in New Cap City

Wow, it's been almost 2 months since my last post. Not that all three of you haven't been able to find something else to read ;)

In any case, this was worthy of bringing the mostly dead blog back for three reasons. First, it's in honor of Caprica being cancelled, a not entirely unsurprising event. Second, it's a sketch clip from Attack of the Show on G4, a channel I now longer get thanks to Directv and their asshole execs (which has a whole other rant at some other time). Thirdly and most importantly, It's got Alessandra Torresani in all sorts of Cosplay goodness and needs to be spread as far and as wide as possible.

"Starbirds are breaking into our Destroyer, so we should get to unleashing the 5th Element." Best. Pickup. Line. Evar.

Also, that Slave Outfit has got to be in the top 5 greatest inventions.

Razor Sharp

Saturday night Battlestar Galactica: Razor aired on SciFi. It was an event I was extremely excited about, and as it turns out, should have been.

It was a prime example of the excellent writing and character development that we've come to expect. I found it interesting to go a little deeper into the workings of the Pegasus before it became a part of the main plot. Plus we got a few clues that make the season finally a little more meaningful (and more promised if I buy it on DVD)

I frakking love this show. Now I just have to wait until March...

Frak Retract

Frakking Cylons and their mind games...

According to a statement released today, producer David Eick, BSG is not ending next season.

"For those of you who have been paying attention over the years, this is not the first time Eddie has made an announcement about the possibility of the show's end. I promise you that when [executive producer] Ron [Moore] and I make a decision about Galactica's future, we'll let you know." says Eick.

Bad Adama...That's a very BAD Admiral!

I take back everything I said about stupid SciFi Execs. For now.

And with that out of the way, I just have to wait 7 frakking months...

FRAK!

Unfortunately, Battlestar Galactica is almost done. According to Katie Sackhoff (Starbuck) & Edward James Olmos (Adama), this upcoming season starting in January is to be the last season for one of my favorite shows.

Apparently it's being canceled due to overly high production costs compared to the relatively low number of viewers. This could get me started on a very long rant about the viewing choices of America, but I won't let it.

Yet another great show canceled. Although I suppose in SciFi's defense, they gave it a fair shot. Three seasons for a show like BSG is admirable, considering the ratings have never been super high. Yet another example of great writing almost being a hindrance to the success of a show. Why watch a show that you have to actually pay attention to when the Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars and American Idol are...no I said I wouldn't do this...

But I digress, it will be missed and at least the show is getting a whole season to wrap things up.

Lords of Kobol be praised and hopefully Beyond the Red Line will be finished soon!
